| Introduction
In July 1944 while the Nazi
empire was under pressure on all fronts, Hitler promised the Germans
a miracle weapon that would shift the war in their favor and lead
them to victory against the allies. One of the so called miracle
weapons was the Jet fighter, Messerschmit M-62. Towards the end
of the war, the Germans were the first to fly such jet fighters
and greatly surprised the allies who were at that time bombing Germany
day and night. Hitler was running out of time and hoped that he
could build these planes in sufficient numbers to sweep the allied
planes, who were much slower, out of the German skies.
The problem of the Nazis was where to build those planes while Germany
was on under constant air attack. They came up with a brilliant
plan to build underground factories with reinforced roofs five meters
thick where no bombs could penetrate and that is where we come in.
These underground factories were to be built by us, the Jewish
slave labor who were brought from all over Europe.
The sites for the factories were in Bavaria where three of them
were to built. |
